This service is provided for free. To make it work it needs to get and store information about your musical preferences. This information is used to provide better service to you and others.
By uploading your iPod iTunesDB file you agree for this information to be stored and used to improve the service. This information will not be sold or disclosed to other third parties.
Obviously this has a great privacy impact: the service knows what's on your iPod.
If the service knows who you are, it could associate your musical preferences with your identity.
Luckily, the service doesn't need to know your identity to work - it works just as well if you keep your anonymity - both technically and as a business model.
When you upload your iTunesDB file, a unique ID will be generated and assigned to you. You can always come back for another search with that ID.
Thus there is no need to provide your email adress, in fact I don't even want to know your email address.
That improves your privacy protection and I expect it increases your trust in the service.
After all, this site could be cracked and the info stolen, it could be forced to reveal the userdata information by a court order, etc.
If the information isn't there, this can never happen.
I hope you agree with me and enjoy the service.
Feedback is always welcome.

For your convenience, Flavour eXchange will store your ID in a cookie.
If you do not want this, you should bookmark the URL with the ID encoded (after uploading), so the service can identify you when you come back.
